Richard P. Almquist, Jr’s multidisciplinary legal practice involves real estate law, business law, municipal law, environmental law, general litigation, and estate planning.
Mr. Almquist comes to Yergey Daylor following a career of nearly thirty-five years of extensive experience in real estate development and environmental consulting, including all aspects of the land development process from pre-acquisition due diligence and financing, through acquisition, land development planning, securing of zoning entitlements, permitting, construction, leasing, and exit strategies. Mr. Almquist’s land development, civil engineering, and environmental experience are substantial assets to clients navigating the complex world of real estate development and permitting.
Throughout his career, Mr. Almquist’s civil engineering roles have involved projects ranging from single-lot residential developments to multi-use commercial and industrial complexes to large, mixed-use residential/commercial developments involving thousands of units. Mr. Almquist’s environmental consulting experience has included investigative and remedial services, substantial Brownfields redevelopment projects, environmental permits, and approvals; establishment of institutional controls and restrictive covenants; obtaining community and governmental support; and coordination of regulatory and permitting agencies (Military, Federal, State, Local).
Mr. Almquist earned his Juris Doctor degree from Delaware Law School located in Wilmington, Delaware. While in law school, Mr. Almquist excelled in the areas of Real Property, Evidence, Civil Procedure, Criminal Procedure, Contracts, and Constitutional Law. Mr. Almquist also excelled in legal writing and litigation areas of study.
Originally from the Chicago area, Mr. Almquist moved to Pennsylvania in 1985 and eventually settled with his family in Berks County. He frequently remarks that he stayed in Pennsylvania because of “trees, and hills, and roads that turn.” A lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, Mr. Almquist is uniquely suited to commiserating with the ups and downs that his friends who are “Phillies Parishioners” also experience.
